Associated Press RALEIGH, N.C. - Prairie Packaging Inc., which manufactures plastic ware, will create more than 240 jobs and invest more than $48 million in the Huntersville area over the next five years, Gov. Mike Easley said Monday. The new jobs include machine operators, mechanics and electricians and will pay an average of $34,164 a year, plus benefits. The company, which makes plastic cups, plates, bowls and straws, plans to build an East Coast manufacturing and distribution hub that eventually will cover 700,000-square-feet in the new North Mecklenburg Industrial Park.
